Special Issues: Print and Digital Editions

In addition to regular issues of Garden Center, the following special supplements feature high-impact editorial and market research. These supplements are the ideal advertising opportunities to reach a targeted audience.

Horticultural Buyers’ Guide

This exclusive annual reference, formerly the All Industry Buyer’s Guide, provides the most complete and concise listing of industry suppliers and manufacturers. Featuring more than 3,600 listings and nearly 500 product categories, this reference provides industry growers and retailers with more information than anything available in the market.

Distribution of the directory is extensive, with more than 58,000 copies mailed with the print editions of Greenhouse Management, Nursery Management and Garden Center. Additionally, there are approximately 6,000 copies distributed at leading industry trade shows and conferences held throughout the year.

To take advantage of this unique and powerful opportunity to promote your business with a wide range of industry buyers, be sure you are listed in all the proper categories, and include your print advertisement.

Top 100

The “blockbuster” addition to the Garden Center mix is our new Top 100 feature, which will appear in the May issue and will spotlight the market’s more-successful garden centers. The research used to determine the industry’s true movers and shakers will delve deeper than anything the market has previously seen to reveal the “gold standard” for the independent retail realm.

Annual state of the industry

Throughout the year, Garden Center will conduct deep-market research reports that reveal how every facet of the market ticks. In November, we’ll put a bow on those efforts by introducing our comprehensive “State of the Industry” report that shows what worked – and what didn’t – in every corner of the market. Sponsorships are available for 10 categories and include a full-page ad that will anchor each editorial report. Additionally, sponsors can have proprietary research done specifically for them. Expanded research reports also will run online, so this is the ideal vehicle to drive you to all ends of the market.

Spring profit centers

This year, Garden Center will offer a variety of product-based supplements, starting in January with “Spring Profit Centers” special section. Here we’ll feature roughly a dozen sponsorable product categories to give advertisers an opportunity to tout their best spring items just as our readers will prepare to do their winter show shopping. Sponsors will receive a full-page ad plus a two-thirds-page advertorial highlighting a specific spring product. To cap each listing, we’ll also show our readers complementary products or items that can be cross-merchandised with yours, making this new section a can’t-miss read – and the ideal way to kick off your 2012 marketing campaign.

GCP&S

Because of market demand, we revived our long-running product showcase, "Garden Center Products & Supplies," and included it as a supplement in two issues in 2010. This year, we’re expanding its frequency to target some of the prime shopping months: February, May, August and December. In addition to your ad in this special supplement, you also receive a free product release, which will be part of a mix of the hottest new items by season.

Fall profit opportunities

One of the more popular new additions to last year’s mix was the Fall Profit Opportunities Supplement, which has been pegged for the June issue in 2012. Here, advertisers can sponsor a product category via a full-page ad, as well as market a fall-specific product in that category. We’ll run a picture of the product you want to showcase, along with all the pertinent contact information, so you can make an early pitch to readers looking to fill their shelves and plant areas with autumn favorites and new must-sell items.
